Student Authors Sue Turnitin for Copyright Infringement
Six high school students from school districts in Virginia and Arizona are suing iParadigms, alleging the company providing a anti-plagarism web service are violating copyright law by archiving the students' papers without permission.

The complaint states that iParadigms contracts with the school districts to check students papers and then archives them without payment to, or consent from, the authors.
